North Douglas High School is a small rural high school focused on building strong relationships, high expectations, and meaningful opportunities for students. We are seeking a passionate and student-centered mathematics teacher who is excited to help students succeed in both high school and college-level mathematics courses (pre-calculus).
Position Summary
North Douglas High School is seeking a highly qualified mathematics teacher who can provide engaging, rigorous, and student-focused instruction in high school mathematics courses ranging from foundational mathematics through advanced and college-level coursework.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach assigned mathematics courses at the high school level
- Develop and implement standards-aligned lesson plans
- Maintain accurate student records and grades
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Utilize technology to support instruction and student engagement
- Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians
- Participate in professional development and school improvement efforts
- Support student academic growth and graduation success
- Potentially teach dual-credit or college-level mathematics coursework
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid Oregon Teaching License or ability to obtain one
- Appropriate Oregon endorsement(s) in Mathematics
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated knowledge of secondary mathematics instruction
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mathematics or related field preferred
- Eligible to teach college-level or dual-credit mathematics courses
- Master’s degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate credits in mathematics
- Experience teaching advanced mathematics courses such as College Algebra, Statistics, Pre-Calculus, or Calculus
- Experience working in rural schools or small school environments
